Aston Martin unveiled an edition of the motorsport-inspired new and special, Aston Martin V8 Vantage N420, which brings a new dimension of sporting prowess and dynamic capacity for the V8 Vantage.
Successor of the special edition V8 Vantage N400 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage N420 is based on the standard 4.7-liter, 420bhp, 180 mph V8 Vantage and is available as a coupe or roadster, with a six-speed manual transmission or optional Sportshift automated manual.
The Vantage N420 inspiration from experiences in business Nurburgring 24 hours race. In 2006, the annual running of the classic Nürburgring resistance among a field mostly of motorsport racing cars, the Aston Martin went into a near-standard road registered V8 Vantage. Led by a team of officials, including the Aston Martin CEO, Dr Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin V8 Vantage – called ‘Rose’ team – finished 4th in class and 24th overall in a field of over 200 specialized cars race.
Since then, the Aston Martin is back every year to compete in this grueling endurance test, scoring a string of race wins and podiums with road users and V8 V12 Advantages and most recently the new Rapide four-door. Not only that success has generated a growing racing V8 Vantage GT4 client program run by Aston Martin Racing, but the lessons learned in racing at the Nurburgring has led to development of aerodynamics and the other being fed back to Aston Martin road.
The generous standard specification and some unique options to ensure the Vantage N420 special edition is unique and distinct, while offering a saving of 27 kg of weight – through the application of carbon fiber – the standard Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
Outside, large sills combine perfectly with a carbon fiber splitter, side straps and diffuser, while the 10-spoke diamond turned alloy wheels complete with bold glossy black finish, black mesh vents and exhaust finish “Graphitic” , complete the coordinated look.
Inside the Vantage N420 offers an interior package with Iridium Graphite instruments, leather or Alcantara ® wheels, sill plates and seats N420 special lightweight carbon fiber, complete with stitching “Race Track” as the Aston Martin V12 Vantage. Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control and Park Distance Control are also standard.
Cementation credentials as a special edition Vantage N420 Aston Martin V8 Vantage, adjusted for the most demanding riders and enthusiasts, is usually equipped with the optional Sports Pack. This package combines revised springs, dampers and stabilizer bars for even more agile handling and dynamic, holding the balance V8 Vantage balance, capacity renowned and long distance. Finally, a new sport exhaust system provides an exciting soundtrack correctly.
Another distinctive feature is the availability of a new range of optional schemes Aston Martin ‘Race Collection’ painting.
